Theodor, Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt were all outstanding communicators. Each of them saw the ability to reach out to the public as a quintessential feature of public service. FDR’s famous website chats and his constant public appearances and speeches embodied the idea that communication is crucial for fostering dialogue and strengthening mutual understanding between politics and people.

The RIAS continues this mission of communication by organizing a variety of outreach activities for students, academics and the general public.
